What time are visiting hours?

General hospital visiting hours are from 9:00a.m. to 8:30p.m. Visitors are required to get a visitor's pass from the ER if entering the facility after visiting hours are over. The Intensive Care Unit has special visiting hours. Visitors are generally restricted to immediate family. Because of the intensity of care given in this area, 15 minute visits are recommended in the following time allotments: 9:30-9:45am, 11:30-11:45am, 1:30-1:45pm, 3:30-3:45pm, 5:30-5:45pm, and 8:00-8:15pm.

Can I use my cell phone at the hospital?

Cell phones may be used at Harton Regional Medical Center. However, in certain areas you may be asked to turn your phone off so that it does not interfere with patient care. We ask that users be mindful of other patients and their families.

Where do I enter the hospital?

Visitors are asked to enter the facility through the main entrances located in the Outpatient Pavillion at the front of the hospital and the Emergency Room on the side. All other entrances have been locked to comply with security standards and for your safety.

Can I smoke at the hospital?

For your safety, health, and the comfort of others, Harton Regional Medical Center is a smoke free facility. Smoking is restricted to designated smoking areas. For the location nearest you, please check with the nurse.

Can I stay overnight at the hosptial with a loved one?

Visitors are required to obtain approval as well as a visitor pass from your nurse in order to stay overnight in the patient's room. Overnight stays may be denied if there is another patient in the room. CCU and PCU overnight visitors can be accomodated in waiting rooms located on the second and third floor.

What is available in the cafeteria?

Hospital visitors may dine in the cafeteria located on the first floor. We offer a full meal along with several grilled items. The cafeteria is open to the public as well as to hospital staff during the following hours: Breakfast- 7:30am-8:30am; Lunch- 11:30am-1:30pm. There is no supper served at this time however, we do offer a midnight grill from 12:00am- 1:30am. During this time we also offer a full service meal.

Are guest trays available for visitors?

If requested, guest trays can be purchased for a charge of $3.00 per meal. Please contact a hostess or ask the nurse for details.

What special amenities are available to patients and their families?

Special amenities available to patients and families at Harton Regional include: Chaplaincy Program, Pastoral Care, Quiet Room, Interpreter Services, and arrangements for the hearing impared. For more information about any of these services, please contact the nurse.

Can I have flowers delivered to a patient at Harton Regional?

Mail and flowers will be delivered to the patient's room. Any mail received after the patient is discharged will be forwarded to the address noted in your admission papers.

Is there a gift shop at Harton Regional?

Yes, there is a Gift Shop run by the Harton Hospital Auxiliary volunteers located at the front entrance of the hosptial with a variety of gifts, flowers, candy, cards, and snacks. ALL profits are returned to the community via contributions to local charities and healthcare scholarships to local students. Hours are as follows: Monday- Friday 10:00am-8:30pm Saturday- 10:00am-5:00pm Sunday- 1:00pm-5:00pm

Can Harton Regional help me find a doctor?

Yes, Harton Regional Medical Center has a physician referral line available Monday-Friday 7:30a.m.-4:00p.m. The phone number is (931)455-9387. *Due to high call volume, it is acceptable to leave a message. Someone from the Education Department will return your phone call as soon as possible.

Is internet access available at Harton Regional?

Yes. Patients, visitors and doctors at Harton Regional have access to free Wi-Fi/wireless high-speed Internet while visiting the hospital. By offering Wi-Fi accessibility, patients and their loved ones can keep up with family or work via the Internet. Connectivity is available throughout the hospital including patient rooms and visitor waiting areas. Harton’s free Internet connection works with any Wi-Fi enabled device such as a laptop computer, Pocket PC or web-enabled cell phone.
